The students should acquire an understanding of the theory of biogeography, with focus on the global distribution of species and eco-geograhical regions.

The course is an introduction to biogeography with special emphasis on the main historical and ecological factors that determine the global distribution of species. The students will get an introduction to speciation associated with global historical events.

Taught in English. Lectures, seminars and possibility for written report.

Presentation (25%), report (25%), oral exam (50%). Grading according to ECTS-system on scale A – E for passed, and F for failed.
