6SU206 Evolution
The students should acquire an understanding of the theory of classical evolutionary biology, with focus on the principles of natural selection.
The course is an introduction to evolutionary biology and how evolution theory affects modern ecology. There will be special emphasis on the principles of natural selection, speciation, macro- and micro-evolution, genetic drift, and modern phylogenetics.
Taught in English. Lectures, seminars and possibility for written report.
Oral exam (50%), presentation (25%), essay (25%). Grading according to ECTS-system on scale A – E for passed, and F for failed.
