Loaning procedure
All students and staff at Hedmark University College are welcome to use the library’s resources and services in their studies and research. Local external users may also use most library services.
Borrowing library materials
Students use their student ID-card as a library card. Staff and other loaners can receive a library card by inquiring at the library. The library card is private, and the owner is responsible for materials borrowed with their card.
A normal loan is 4 weeks, however some items have a shorter loaning period. Longer loans can be arranged for staff, but items must be returned upon request.
Renewing loans
Loans can normally be renewed 3 times if there is no waiting list. Library users can renew their loans by logging on to Bibsys ASK.
The library can borrow materials from other libraries (Inter-library loan). These can normally not be renewed.
Lost or damaged items
Lost or damaged items must be replaced. The replacement cost of a book is 600 NOK. With especially valuable materials, the cost can be greater.
Library users who don’t follow library rules will not be permitted to borrow materials. When overdue materials are returned or when the replacement cost is paid, loaning can resume.
The library is not responsible for damage to audio-visual equipment which may occur while playing library materials.
