Research interests:
My main research interests are within the realm of ecology and evolution. In my master thesis I studied morphological divergence among sympatric demes of grayling ( Thymallus thymallus ). The grayling shared a common ancestor some 80-120 years ago, and shows evidence for evolution on a contemporary timescale which might be contributed to variation in climatic conditions between the demes.
In my PhD-project I will focus on develop population models for predicting climate effects on brown trout ( Salmo trutta ) across a coast-to-inland gradient. I will use data assessed from many lakes across a coast-to-inland gradient. I will also explore the climate effects on early life stages of the trout in controlled temperature-effect experiments. The aim is a general climate-driven population dynamic model which could generate population scenarios under various climatic conditions.
