Research interests:
Population dynamics and grazing ecology of ungulates and the implications of these for applied management and conservation issues. Specifically, the interactions of factors such as body size and diet selection at the individual level, together with density, environmental conditions and management processes such as harvesting and supplementary feeding at the population level, on individual fitness and population dynamics. Study species include red deer, wild and domestic sheep, Svalbard reindeer and moose in UK and Norway. |

Teaching:
Current Topics in Applied Ecology (master-level course in English) & occasional lecturer in Game Management and Carnivore Management bachelor-level courses. Supervision of phd, masters and undergraduate students. |
